Jeffrey Campbell

I spotted these Jeffrey Campbell shoes during a promotion Bona Drag had where they were giving out canvas bags if you spent $100 or more (which ended by the way). I loved them instantly and had to ask about them. They are not on the online shop yet but they will be in a couple of weeks for $72. Score!

Love More

An interview with blogger and stylist Annabel of Love More, a visually exciting blog with a great mix of posts. Check it out!
What are your signature pieces/ traits?
I love my vintage blazer collection, vintage rock t-shirts and my unique Doc Martens.

What does your current wishlist consist of?
These boots http://lovemoreblog.blogspot.com/2010/06/studmebeautiful.html

Whose wardrobe would you steal besides the magical one in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"?
I honestly think Rumi from Fashion Toast (http://www.fashiontoast.com/) would have one of the most amazing wardrobes going around...she seems to have quite a variety. Also wouldn't mind diving into Chloe Sevigny's, Erin Wasson's, Stella McCartney's..oh the list goes on!

Fashion inspirations?
Streetstyle, editorials, magazines, nature...the list is endless!

Favorite online shops?
I am a sucker for http://www.topshop.com/, http://www.shopnastygal.com/, http://www.pixiemarket.com/store/, http://www.thenewguard.com.au/, http://www.claireinc.com/index/index/page/home

Favorite local shops?
Incu is always good for a looksie, all the vintage stores on Crown Street Surry Hills I love - I rarely walk out of C's without something!

How long have you been blogging?
Since December 2008..so about 18 months.

What made you decide to start blogging?
I had been following a few of the more personal blogs for a few months and felt so restricted not being a part of the community. I never started with the intention of getting a solid following..it kind of just happened. I find the blogging experience so far to be really rewarding and enjoyable. It's just so great to have a place to post whatever is inspiring you at the time, share your personal style, highlights in your life etc.

How do your friends and family support your blogging?
They are really great! My mum sadly would not even know how to turn a computer on so she has no idea about it all. My sister checks in all the time which is great because we don't live in the same state anymore and are really close. My brothers I don't think check in on it at all - boys! And my friends are fantastic about it. Occasionally they comment and it makes my day :)

How long have you been interested in fashion?
How did your interest develop? I have been into fashion since I can remember. I have always had a passion for it. It didn't really click to me though until I started bloggin that this is what I want to pursue in terms of a career.

Where did you pick up your style?
I think we all just absorb little pieces of everything around us. There is no one person, or one style I am into.

Has blogging affected your career?
Has it lead you in a new direction in life? Without a doubt. It has opened up so many doors already...I am so very grateful for everything that has spun out from it.

Best advice to fashion lovers, bloggers and non bloggers?
Do what makes you happy! Money should never be the drive to what you do.

Personal benefits to blogging?
Meeting and making friends with people from all around the world is by far the biggest personal benefit I have experienced so far. :)

Wild Tortoise

Another one of my little interviews, this time with Jess from Wild Tortoise. Wild Tortoise is one of my newer discoveries that quickly became a favorite! (I blew up the pictures extra large on this interview for extra detail on these outfits. Love them!)

What are your signature pieces/ traits?
I tend to gravitate towards loose tops, tight bottoms, killer shoes and masculine accessories.

What does your current wishlist consist of?
Light paperbag trousers, denim dresses, dainty collars, ankle jewelry and statement necklaces.

Whose wardrobe would you steal besides the magical one in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"?
Rachel Zoe's treasure trove of insane vintage pieces and crazy shoes obviously!

Fashion inspirations?
Jenn Brill, Alexa Chung and Nicole Richie (back when she was blonde and going out with DJ AM)

Favorite online shops?
Topshop, ASOS, Revolve Clothing, Forever21

Favorite local shops?
Zara, H&M, Bershka, Aritzia (in Toronto)

How long have you been blogging?
A bit over a year now.

What made you decide to start blogging?
I started this blog to document my travels over the summer but it slowly evolved into a much more fashion-centric one. However, at its root, wild tortoise is still a personal blog.

How do you think you became so loved in the fashion blogging world?
Oh I wish I knew the exact reasons! I guess it has something to do with my outfits or maybe its more about all the photos of food I put up that tempt people to come back after they stumble upon it.

How do your friends and family support your blogging?
I actually didn't tell anybody in real life about my blog, they sort of just started finding out on their own. I get the nagging suspicion that more people know about it than they let on but I don't mind. My parents honestly have no idea and get a little confused when they walk in on me taking photos of myself! Other than that my boyfriend teases me about my "blogger friends" and helps me take photos sometimes.

How long have you been interested in fashion? How did your interest develop?
I started reading fashion magazines in middle school but my style didn't really revolve past typical cringe-worthy teenage trends until my final year of high school after I discovered fashion blogs. Since then its grown into an almost obsession!

Where did you pick up your style?
I was influenced really early on by fashion bloggers like Rumi, Camille and Lulu. Now my influences come from so many different sources that its hard for me to really say where my style has come from.

Has blogging affected your career? Has it lead you in a new direction in life?
In terms of career I have actually become pretty disenchanted with the fashion industry itself (as glamorous as it seems). I don't know if I can ever take fashion so seriously as to make a career out of it. For me, its a fun and frivolous outlet to project how I'm feeling or what I'm into at the moment.

Best advice to fashion lovers, bloggers and non bloggers?
Don't take fashion too seriously and don't let it dictate how you should look. Its only fabric and hardware after all.
Personal benefits to blogging.
All the amazing people I've met as a result of it make me feel a lot less crazy and superficial.

What does your current wishlist consist of?
Thigh-high leather boots, a beige trench coat & leopard print high-waisted shorts.

Kate Moss, definitely! I am in awe over everything she wears.

Kate Moss, Abbey Lee, Gemma Ward, Marloes Horst,

Favorite online shops?
Nasty Gal, ASOS, Topshop & Bardot.

Favorite local shops?
The local Westfield's & vintage markets.

How long have you been blogging?
I created my blog in November 2009 & have been blogging regularly ever since.

What made you decide to start blogging?
I have followed fashion & celebrity blogs for years now, came across Chictopia & decided that I would like to share my personal fashion & work as well.

How do you think you became so loved in the fashion blogging world?
I wouldn't say I am so loved, haha, but it's great to support each other & our blogs by leaving feedback, commenting, encouraging the people you follow.

How do your friends and family support your blogging?
My sister has a blog of her own, my cousins often check up on mine & my mum also likes to read through every now & again. They are very supportive & believe it's just me showing my creativity side.

How long have you been interested in fashion? How did your interest develop?
In the last few years I have become more interested in fashion the more I have started to model. I began to love shopping & putting together outfits. I was a tomboy growing up, but once I began modeling I started to create an open mind on outfits & over time my love has grown immensely for fashion & creativity.

Where did you pick up your style?
I think that over time I have just experimented with lots of different styles & picked out what I'm most comfortable in & what I love to wear. I still love to experiment though & always willing to try new things!

Has blogging affected your career? Has it lead you in a new direction in life?
I have been a photographer prior to blogging & since I started blogging, it has only increased my interest & passion for it. It has lead me more into fashion photography & given me far more inspiration & ideas.

Best advice to fashion lovers, bloggers and non bloggers?
Experiment with different styles & tastes of fashion. Wear clothing that compliments & is best for your figure. Do some research & get inspiration from fashion magazines, celebs, etc.

Personal benefits to blogging.
Blogging allows you to express your creative side, as well as allow you to keep up to date with people you admire. You can also make great friends in the fashion world.

Clara Smiles

An interview with the stunning blogger Maria, from Clara Smiles.

What are your signature pieces/ traits?

Love vintage clothes and recycled pieces, if I have to choose, it could be the Clasic Black Leather Jacket, Motorcycle Leather Boots and Long Sleeve Shirts.

What does your current wishlist consist of?
I'm not used to having wishlists, I prefer to surprise myself by finding wonderful things without planning, but some of my favourites this year could be the Stylestalker's Vulture Dress and the Cat-Eyed Sunglasses by Alexander Wang!

Whose wardrobe would you steal besides the magical one in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"?
Generally I get influenced by many different places, around on the web or magazines that I wouldn't choose someone specifically, mixing is more Fun!

Fashion inspirations?
As I have a family background of Rock/Techno musicians, I prefer Edgy looks, part trashy, part trendy.

To name a few, David Bowie, Robert Smith, Jay Kay, Deborah Harry, Alexa Chung, Chloe Sevigny, the whole psicodelic acid age, the punk movement too.

Favorite online shops?
I usually buy locally, so I don`t have a favorite online shop.

Favorite local shops?
I enjoy much buying my clothes on vintage markets (sometimes i have to re-adapt stuff to the look i like).

So my favorite treasure shops are flea markets.

How long have you been blogging?
Less than a year.

What made you decide to start blogging?
I wanted to make something personal, just for myself, had many pictures that I had taken and I wanted to put them on a kind of album, never expected the world liked my stuff.

How do your friends and family support your blogging?
They are very happy with it, and proud, they always show it to their friends.

How long have you been interested in fashion? How did your interest develop?
As a child I remember seeing my father singing in his PopRock band with all the make up and wardrobe for the shows. Those images, and seeing other band shows made an impact on me. My house allowed us, my brother and me, to dress the way we liked, which was generally different from the other kids and always music influenced.

Where did you pick up your style?
I think style is a work in progress, I never think about it. When I take pictures, I start with a simple idea but never know how it will end up, most of the times is just me with my clothes at home with the camera. I`m surprised that most of the people find a Style and Defined Ahestetic on my work, I think everybody has their own Style and exploration is the key to find it.

Has blogging affected your career? Has it lead you in a new direction in life?
In my country blogging is not as popular to properly affect your life or career, but it has opened my mind in new directions certainly.

Best advice to fashion lovers, bloggers and non bloggers?
Just believe in yourself, follow your heart, develop your own style.

Personal benefits to blogging?
I`m happy to show my little world and receive instant feedback from many marvellous bloggers. As i`m the photographer in most of the shots, it`s also great to share my personal view of my things and my place. I have known many wonderfull people (virtually) which I wouldn´t if it wasn`t for the blog.

Natalie's fashion workshop.

I am super excited about this interview from Natalie of Natalie's fashion workshop! She is by far one of the coolest bloggers and so down to Earth. If you haven't checked her out please do! You can also see her lookbook here.

What are your signature pieces/ traits?
One thing you will always find on me is black. I keep on trying to leave this colour behind me little by little, but it will always be in my closet.

What does your current wishlist consist of?
Actually, I checked my 2010 wishlist recently and most of the pieces have already been bought. Still to be bought: a denim shirt, jumper and cowboy boots. The rest is here and here.

Whose wardrobe would you steal besides the magical one in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"?
If such wardrobe existed I would steel Kristen Stewart's clothes used in every photoshoot she's been a part of. The stylists create such splendid look of K.!

Fashion inspirations?
Fashion TV, magazines, movies, lookbook.nu, blogs, music...

Favorite online shops?
http://www.shopnastygal.com/, http://www.solestruck.com/, http://misbhv.com, http://www.nadinoo.com/, http://www.pinup-cadillac.pl/, http://www.topshop.com/, allegro.pl/ebay.pl

Favorite local shops?
Most of the time, I shop at ZARA, H&M, MANGO, TOPSHOP.

How long have you been blogging?
Since december 2009.

What made you decide to start blogging?
I have always loved fashion and clothes, but never got the guts to buy and wear what I really wanted. This blog was supposed to motivate me to be honest with myself and to have an audience that would appreciate what I create here... and it worked :)

How do your friends and family support your blogging?
I'd rather share it with strangers than with my friends. But my fiancée helps me with pictures, and my dear friends Olga and Marcel support me and sometimes comment my outfits in person.

How long have you been interested in fashion? How did your interest develop?
It's been inside me since I can remeber. My parents used to design simple clothes and I had learned how to sew. Then I started to draw clothing projects, dreaming about being a famous designer. Then it all subsided and since I'm a photographer fashion is close to me all the time.

Where did you pick up your style?
I guess all that I've seen has affected me. All movies, people seen on the street, magazines that I read. I always loved punk and rock music, yet I have always felt like a woman and dreamt of being chic. I All of that have mingled and came out as my personal style.

Has blogging affected your career? Has it lead you in a new direction in life?
Career is still ahead of me, but I have decided to study fashion design. It's a big decision, when you are already sure that you want to be a photographer only. Now I also know that I can't only be 'one person' and need to fulfill all my dreams.

Best advice to fashion lovers, bloggers and non bloggers?
Fashion lovers! Be honest with yourself. Being fashionable when you don't really know what you're doing is lame and never comes out well. If you don't like skirts or light colors - don't wear them or you'll only feel uncomfortable!

And to bloggers - don't let yourself get lost in fame. Bloggers start to be very proud and vain, don't reply to any emails or comments... such behaviour is very upsetting.
